An Ethical Choice

by Alisa
(Canada)

Perhaps it doesn't suit everyone to be a vegetarian, and that just means you haven't arrived at that point in your life yet.

It is easy to be a healthy vegetarian, especially when you are mindful about your food choices. Let's not forget - the main focus is eating vegetables - and less processed foods.

After you drop meat from your diet, you will feel a lightness. This isn't because you are going anemic or something - it's a good thing! You will have more energy and your skin will clear up.

My belief is that the energy of suffering of the animals is something present in the food, so it is transferred to you when you eat a chunk of dead flesh.

Could you kill an animal? Hunt it and kill it yourself? If you don't see yourself doing that, then maybe you shouldn't be relying on others to do it for you.

Be aware of what's on your plate, and don't listen to all the silly excuses about iron and protein and so on. Many myths are perpetuated by mainstream "nutrition", so keep that in mind. Vegetables and seeds contain more than adequate amounts of proteins.

Be informed, and educate yourself about healthy eating if you are concerned. Educate yourself about the meat industry - and you might be shocked an appalled.

Discover delicious vegetarian food and find yourself enjoying it - not depleting yourself. You have so much information at your disposal.
