Infused Water

Thirsty? How about infused water as a refreshing, healthy, thirst quencher.

Making your own nutritious nectars is easy to do.  You will eliminate the sugars you get in flavored store-bought waters delivering superior nutrition to you! The ingredients will be fresh so you will know that you are getting the valuable nutrients from the ingredients. You will be combining fruits, vegetables, and herbs to make recipes to delight your taste buds.

These drinks are beautiful to look at. They usually have a delicate taste and are not overpowering or sickly sweet. I have found that everyone, adults and children alike, like them because they are real thirst quenchers.

And the best part is you have delicious cool waters to drink

Making Infused Water

The primary ingredients is water.  Clean, pure water. We are doing so much to take care of ourselves and putting into our bodies only good foods. I am personally committed to eating mostly organic, non-gmo foods, and as much as I can from my garden and the farmers market.

And i use a water filter so I will know the water I am getting is as clean and pure as possible.  So, start with clean, pure water for your infused water recipes.

Every morning I fill a pitcher with my filtered water, add some herbs/fruits and put in the refrigerator to have available for drinking throughout the day.

Here are some simple ideas to infuse water with no recipe:

  • Add a few sprigs of mint to your water. Experiment with the different varieties such as spearmint, peppermint, lemon mint, chocolate mint.  Add a slice or two of fruit in with your mint.  you now have orange-mint, chocolate-mint, etc.
  • Add a sprig or two of herbs to your water.  There are some great health benefits to herbs, why not add to your water? Some to try are basil, lavender, rosemary, cilantro, lemon balm, thyme. If there is a herb that you particularly fond of, I encourage you to try it in your water.
  • Add a edible flower or more to your water that imparts a nice taste.  Some to try would be borage flowers, bee balm, lavender. Think of ones that have a strong flavor and must be used sparingly on food. These are the ones that would be great for your water.
  • Add slices of fruit to your drink or squeeze some fruit juice into your drink. Remember, pretty much ANY fruit will work. Some ideas are cherries, oranges, honeydew, kiwi, lemon, watermelon, berries, lime.

You really cant go wrong experimenting with these ideas. You will soon find you will have a pitcher of water in your refrigerator as well, that the family will do to throughout the day.
