My Story (Short Version)


My name is Rhonda and I share my story in hopes that it may encourage others to consider the benefits of learning more about a natural healthy lifestyle.

Taking the time to educate yourself and implement healthy lifestyle practices can make a invaluable difference in your life and it empowers you on how to make good choices along the way.

Over the years I have been dealing with my own chronic health issues that ultimately stemmed from living a stressful lifestyle. I did not realize the damage I was causing myself until my body started giving me some wake up calls. It was a challenge for me to learn how to slow down, relax and take better care of myself.

This stressful lifestyle can be the norm these days as we think we can do everything and have everything we want. But it can come at a high price. I have talked to numerous girlfriends who have a similar story.

I come from a family of diabetics that struggled with the debilitating advances of this disease. My grandmother, and my mother both died of diabetic complications. More recently my brother has been dealing with the onset of diabetes and I am hopeful that he will do everything that he can to fight this dreadful disease.

There is greater risk that due to my genetic makeup I could follow my family's path, but I don't plan to. I took care of my mother in her last couple of years and saw how the disease wreaked havoc on her health and my mother died at the early age of 68. It was hard to watch my mom suffer from the effects of diabetes. 

I believe that the choices that I make in how I live my life now will give me some advantages over becoming another diabetic statistic.

After years of personal observations and experiences, I began to look into ways to help myself develop a more healthier lifestyle. As I have turned increasingly toward natural sources, I realized that the choices that I make each day can tally up as either "credits or debits" in my health account.

Once I had this simple Ah HAH... I was able to look at the unhealthy habits that I was practicing each and every day. And this was the turning point for me.

Over the years I have become very passionate about learning natural and holistic options; not just looking at the symptoms, but looking at the body and the mind as a whole and addressing lifestyle choices.

The focus of holistic nutrition, whole foods, raw foods, juicing, superfoods, exercise and managing stress are just a few of the things that I have learned that we can do to help ourselves achieve better health and well being. They are the steps that will show you results in the way you feel.

Wherever you are today believe that you can achieve what you set your mind to. It all starts with awareness and education and most importantly, taking action. Search for information that resonates with you.

I will be sharing with you insights from my experiences in my journey towards a more natural health lifestyle. I hope you will join me in the quest for living a happier, healthier, and more satisfying life. Sharing and encouraging a natural way of living is what Natural Health Cafe is all about.

Natural options are not quick fixes. However, I have found for me that learning to take responsibility for myself and the willingness to make changes requires conscientious dedication. What works for one person may differ for someone else.
