A Fabulous Spinach Salad

For a new way to enjoy a spinach salad, give this option a try. By pairing a nice ripe pear with some nuts and feta cheese, you will definitely enjoy your spinach. This healthful salad combines the nutritious spinach with a fiber rich fruit that is mild and full of flavor.

This light pear and nut topping on this salad rivals the old heavy bacon and egg salad you may remember. By combining the fruit, nuts and cheese with a simple dressing, the flavor of the spinach is just divine.

  • 1 bunch of spinach
  • 1 pear
  • 3 Tbsps. of feta cheese (or blue cheese for a stronger flavor)
  • 1/4 cup of walnuts
  • 2 Tbsps. of honey
  • 1 Tsp. of rice wine vinegar
  • optional: a balsamic dressing or raspberry dressing
Wash spinach thoroughly and dry. Cut pear into bite size squares. Toss spinach, pear, nuts, walnuts and cheese with the dressing and serve with a whole grain bread. Enjoy the different textures and sweetness in this healthy new version of this salad.
